Born and raised in Northridge California, Matthew learned to cook in his Grandmother's kitchen when he was eight years old. She inspired him to cook because he loved her home cooked meals.
While growing up Matthew worked in the social services field teaching life skills to adults with developmental disabilities both in their home and out in the community. During those years he catered many events for his family and friends including intimate gatherings, birthdays, anniversaries and more.
After realizing that his passion was in food he decided to pursue his dream.
From 2002-2003 with his family and friend's support, Matthew enrolled and graduated from California School of Culinary Arts Le Cordon Bleu Program in Pasadena, California. It was there that he learned cooking techniques, sanitation, food presentation, restaurant management and recipes from around the world.
Matthew specializes in "New" Cuisine and specialty diets.
Matthew started his personal chef services in April 2007 and will soon be opening up a small restaurant called Matteo's Cafe in the Southwest part of Las Vegas.
